According the ancient Egyptians, merkaba is believed to be the "light spirit body" (Mer = Light, Ka = Spirit and Ba = Body). The merkaba also comprises two tetrahedrons, the structure of which is the first and most stable of the Platonic solids that lends spiritual signficance to its stability and staying power. In this shape, the top tetrahedron is thought to represent the masculine force while the lower the feminine and this analogy extends to apply to cosmic relationships or heaven & earth, physical & spiritual, light & dark.
